Keanu Reeves has revealed his top pick for a Marvel character he would like to play in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Despite having discussions with Marvel Studios in the past, Reeves is yet to have an official role in the MCU. However, his interest in a specific hero suggests that it might only be a matter of time before he joins the cast of the popular franchise.
During a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) session held to promote his upcoming movie John Wick: Chapter 4, Keanu Reeves was asked about any roles he might have regretted turning down over the years. While the actor claimed that there were none, he did open up about a Marvel superhero role he had been interested in playing.
“…No…but I did always want to play Wolverine.”
With Keanu Reeves expressing his interest in playing a Marvel superhero role, particularly Wolverine, fans have been eagerly anticipating the possibility of seeing the beloved actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Reeves had previously hinted at his interest in playing the iconic X-Men character, and with Marvel Studios now holding the rights to the X-Men franchise and introducing mutants into the MCU, the timing couldn’t be more perfect. However, it’s worth noting that the upcoming Deadpool 3 movie has already confirmed Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine, making it unlikely that Reeves would debut as the character in that film. Nevertheless, there’s still a chance for Reeves to take on the role of Weapon X in future MCU films. Fans can only hope that Marvel Studios takes note of Reeves’ interest and finds a way to bring the actor into the superhero universe.
